John Champaign Educational Software

After meeting an autistic boy in the San Francisco Bay Area, it became evident to me that there was a glaring deficiency in the availability of educational software for autistic children. Most educational software makers aren't interested in producing for autistic children, both due to the small market size and that autism is expressed in such different ways in each individual. I feel that the best approach is to heavily customize programs for EACH individual, and building a bank of code that can be tailored to create individualized educational programs.

A demo of the program in action is available at: http://champaign.no-ip.org/demo.jnlp (when the security dialog comes up press start). You'll need to have java installed to run it, so if you have a problem running it, go to http://www.java.com and click on the yellow button in the upper right hand corner and it should guide you through the installation (its very easy to install). If you still have problems after that, let me know and I'll help you.

This demo has been customized for a specific student, so if it was being modified for a new student, it would have lessons and rewards that were more appropriate to what the new student is learning and is interested in. This is *NOT* intended to be a one-size-fits-all program, but rather an example of what has been made for one specific student.
